How to put together a kick a** plant-based Thanksgiving Meal ♥


SO, how can you veganize your usual Thanksgiving dishes?  First and foremost don’t get your knickers in a twist – keep it simple! :).

Everyones favorite mash potatoes …

Just replace the milk and butter with non-dairy alternatives such as unsweetened almond milk or soy milk and yummy Earth Balance in place of the butter. Throw in a dash of garlic or rosemary and Bobs your uncle – you just made your first batch of vegan mash potatoes!

Brussels that make you go hmmmm!

Mix organic fresh brussels with olive oil, garlic cloves, salt and pepper and chuck them in the oven on 350 for about 40 mins and voila roasted brussel sprouts!

But what about the um, meat?

Okay we’ve come a long way as far as faux meats go. I suggest your grab a few and cook em up and see which is your families fave.  Us old school vegans are partial to Tofurkey – yep Tofurkey.  It’s a soy-based meat alternative but if you dress it up right it’s amazing!  Your best bet though is anything from Field-Roast their stuff is the bomb.  They have a celebration roast, a mustard and pineapple glazed roast (has a bbq flavor) and a hazelnut croute.

Gotta have a green bean casserole

Okay honestly I’ve never made one but I’ve heard that this is a great recipe from 🙂

I kid you not when I say that this is the best vegan gravy eva! My friend Ann Gentry founder of the Los Angeles vegan restaurant Real Food Daily created this recipe and it’s just amazing! If you usually add butter to these puppies or any other veggies try adding Earth Balance instead, its freaking awesome 🙂

There’s nothing corny about Corn Bread …

My hubby whips up this vegan skillet corn bread when we indulge in southern food and it’s the perfect addition to any Thanksgiving meal! 🙂
