basil + pine nuts = pestolicious!


Hold on to your seats because this pesto sauce recipe will rock your world!

what you need

a couple of handfuls of organic basil

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/4 cup pine nuts

a few chopped sun-dried tomatoes

1 cup mushrooms chopped

handful of asparagus

2 cloves garlic

dash of himalayan salt (optional)

the cheeze sauce 

1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

dash of garlic powder

dash of himalayan salt (optional)

2 tbsp Earth Balance

how to make pestolicious

chuck pine nuts, basil, garlic, salt and olive oil into the blender and blend it up.  in separate pan saute mushrooms + asparagus.  put cheeze sauce ingredients (except Earth Balance) into a pan bring to simmer.  once it thickens add Earth Balance.  then add basil mixture to cheeze sauce. throw in sun -dried tomatoes, asparagus + mushrooms and stir.  pour over pasta and serve with salad + garlic bread.  if you are feeling fancy throw it on top of a pizza or add it to a sandwich.
